New Tool - Self-audit Guidance Package
The VRA is delighted to release this Self-audit Guidance Package which supports its standards audit tool and it Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics for Vocational Rehabilitation Practitioners
The updated version of the VRA Standards (2013) requires members to “Refer to these standards to conduct a self-audit at yearly intervals or less”. When carrying out self-audit members should use the VRA Standards of Practice – Audit Tool in which they will make reference to evidence that demonstrates how they have met each individual standard. This evidence should be organised into an accompanying portfolio, which would normally include records and documents; providing a degree of context for the reviewer. Within these documents, however, specific content can be highlighted to show how it relates to a particular standard.
This Self-audit Guidance Package provides an example of a portfolio that might have been submitted by a VRA member to one of their peers for review. It focuses on Section B of the Standards: Vocational Rehabilitation Practice. It also includes some comments made by a peer reviewer to show where the evidence might have been strengthened.
We hope members find the tool useful and welcome feedback. The VRA’s thinks go to all who contributed to this tool but in particular to Chris Parker and Lorna Glass without whose tremendous efforts it would not have been possible.
