ABI Rehabilitation Panel for Insurers
ABI has established the Rehabilitation Insurer Panel, a unique group where general, life and health insurers can unite to focus on rehabilitation issues that are a priority for the industry and across product lines.
The panel aims to give insurers a strong, unified voice to take the industry forward by supporting best practice and informing the work of organisations with broader membership, such as the IUA/ABI Rehabilitation Working Party, Case Management Society UK, UKRC and other ABI committees. Its overarching aim is to improve the delivery of appropriate rehabilitation outcomes to injured parties.
Rosie Hewitt, Rehabilitation Manager, QBE European Operations commented “The rehabilitation industry has developed considerably in the last thirty years and insurers have played an integral part in this. Until now, no specific group existed for insurers to convene to discuss rehabilitation issues that are a priority for them. Through the establishment of the Rehabilitation Panel for Insurers, we have created a platform for insurers to share best practice with the view to further developing the industry’s rehabilitation proposition and ultimately benefitting injured parties throughout the UK”.
Aidan Kerr, Head of Property and Health at the Association of British Insurers said: “The ABI is committed to helping insurers deliver appropriate rehabilitation outcomes to consumers and our expert panel will support the sector to achieve this.”
The panel, chaired by Rosie Hewitt, includes representatives from Allianz, Aviva, Axa, Covea, Direct Line, HSBC, Lloyds Banking, LV, MIB, NFU, Saga, Swiss Re, Unum, and Zurich.
